Team One
Maybe your kids are like ours, and they argue almost about anything and everything. A wrong stare, an offbeat breath, or a misinformed statement can send siblings going off the rails.
It was a regular Saturday of sleeping in just an extra couple hours than the normal weekly routine. Everyone began waking up to begin their day and take on different tasks, agendas, and routines. It was midday when a disruption in the home broke into chaos of disagreements. One kid argued how the other did more in chores while the other rebutted with their work ethic in athletics than the other sibling. Perhaps this tune rings of familiarity in your home too.
It can be good at times to make the kids work through conflict, but as parents we know the moment it begins to become unproductive then we must intervene. As the heated debate deescalate, the question posed—
“If this unit, this family, is a team on a basketball court, football, field, or any team for that matter, would we be a winning team?”
